Watch New AG Leaders Online
This past week, the newly elected leadership team of the Assemblies of God spoke in a series of chapels at AG headquarters. The videos of these messages are online. Each of these men has a compelling testimony, and I would encourage you to view or listen to them here.

I wanted to post a thought...
There seems to be a string of debates going on how to preach the Gospel/Good News of Jesus. I think the Gospel wasn't something that was preached it was lived out through the life, death and the resurrection of Christ.
We come into the debate with our styles of preaching...what we believe to be right and what we believe to be wrong...here is a thought...
Why can’t we just join in what God is doing instead of picking up swords and verbal rocks. I’m convinced at the core is the question, is the Gospel powerful enough to really change individuals and communities without force or even arguments and debates between Christ followers? Is the Gospel more powerful than methodology or style?
If it’s not, it’s not much of a Gospel.
why are we so thin skinned? Healthy debate is good and if someone says something that ruffles your feathers why not be mature about it and try to see the point? Perhaps if we could all be a little less worried about being offended and quit being scared of healthy confrontation we could accomplish more for the Kingdom.

You're undoubtedly right that the gospel is more powerful than methodology or style. And that's a point of comfort for all preachers. Even when our delivery of a sermon stinks, even when our illustrations are outdated, even when our examples are irrelevant, the Holy Spirit is able to take our feeble words and use them to bring people to repentance and belief. But having said that, wouldn't it be better if our delivery were better, our illustrations contemporary, and our examples up to date? Even the preachers in the New Testament varied the style of their message depending on the audience. Simply compare Stephen's speech to Jews in Acts 8 with Paul's speech to Greeks in Acts 17. Methodology isn't everything (thank God!), but it is something, and if even the biblical leaders varied methodlogy to reach an audience, perhaps we should too.

George,
I totally agree. I believe that is why I believe whatever method or style we use, we must study hard, but we also need to be the best communicators as possible.

Anonymous(s) - Can you guys start using a number system, so we can tell which Anonymous is posting? Like: Anonymous 101, & Anonymous 102. Even better - Why not just come out of the closet?
Thanks for posting on the new leadership team. We have been praying for them.
